An HSS6x4 hollow structural section connects to another HSS member using a plate welded to the beam top and bottom with a quarter-inch fillet weld. A flared bevel weld is provided as required along the side of the HSS. An optional erection plate measuring 1/2 inch by 3 inches by 4 inches is secured with 1/2-inch diameter erection bolts and is removed during erection.
