The concrete slab on grade transitions in elevation from zero to four inches and four inches to one foot with a sloped transition zone. Continuous reinforcing steel follows the profile of the stepped slab with required lap splices at the transitions. The subgrade is prepared beneath the slab per typical geotechnical specifications.
