Cold-formed steel stud walls incorporate horizontal bridging spaced at forty-eight inches on center vertically maximum, secured with either welded or screwed clip angles measuring one and a half by one and a half inches with a thickness one gauge heavier than the stud or fifty-four mil minimum. Strap connections require four number eight screws minimum each side, tied to track blocking pieces that match the wall stud clip flange and bend at ninety-six inches on center maximum. All straps connect to at least one block, with additional blocking provided each side at discontinuous strap locations. Minimum edge distance equals three times the screw diameter, with two number eight screws fastening to the channel and stud.
