The top track of a wall partition connects to a twenty gauge minimum metal roof deck oriented perpendicularly to the track. Staggered shotpins anchor the top track at the lower flute of the deck with spacing governed by the partition schedule. Vertical studs frame into the top track as specified in the partition schedule. Shotpins may be substituted with self-tapping metal screws per the schedule when required.
