Concrete slab-on-grade depressions feature two standard conditions for shallow and deep drops. The shallow condition accommodates depressions of two inches or less with a two-foot transition width. The deeper condition handles depressions up to one foot six inches maximum with a sloped sub-base, supported by typical slab reinforcement and continuous number four nosing bars at the depression and corners. Granular sub-base material and compacted subgrade support the concrete slab throughout both conditions.
