A wide flange beam frames into the flange of a wide flange column, reinforced with 3/4-inch stiffener plates on each side for a total of two. The stiffener plates are welded to the column with 1/4-inch fillet welds on three sides typically. A 1/2-inch cap plate is provided at the top of the column where required. Bolted connections and associated plates and welds are detailed further per structural notes.
