A wood nailer matching the beam flange width is fastened to the top flange of a structural steel beam. Seven-eighths-inch diameter welded threaded rods are spaced at sixteen inches on center, staggered across the beam with a maximum three-quarter-inch countersink. Individual rods are positioned a maximum of nine inches from each end of the nailer and from each splice. Two rows of nailing are arranged at specified nail spacing.
