Two-sided beam-to-girder connections frame into a supporting steel girder web, addressing conditions for both beam depth differences greater than one inch and less than or equal to one inch. The connection utilizes a typical shear tab welded to the girder web and bolted to the supported beam web using a specified number and size of bolts. For beams with a depth difference greater than one inch, a structural tee matching the flange width of the beam is provided below the shallower beam with a one-quarter inch fillet weld. Complete joint penetration welds are specified for the top and bottom flanges with weld backup plates omitted for clarity. Bolt spacing and edge distances must conform to AISC specifications.
