A C8 steel channel connects to an existing concrete-encased steel column using a connection detailed in table A. An existing concrete slab abuts the encased column at level 3, located at elevation 47 feet 10 inches. Demolition of existing concrete cover is required at the connection point, followed by replacement with fireproofing.
