Metal deck bears perpendicularly across a steel beam supporting welded shear studs. Condition A requires a minimum one-half inch clearance from the stud to the metal deck flute when standard alignment cannot be attained. A one and one-half inch minimum clearance is specified, increasing to three inches minimum at drag beams.
