A hollow structural section beam frames into a supporting structural member using a half-inch thick end plate welded flush to the end of the hollow structural section. Two 6x6x1/2 inch angle cleats measuring zero feet six inches long are welded to the top and bottom of the hollow structural section and the end plate. A one-quarter inch fillet weld applied to three sides secures each angle, and a one-quarter inch fillet weld top and bottom secures the end plate to the supporting member.
