This structural plan detail shows framing members sized per plan surrounding an opening in a concrete topping and metal deck assembly. Framing consists of W10x12 steel beams with a slab edge positioned at the edge of the beam flange. Openings are reinforced with two number five trim bars on each side extending two feet six inches past the opening. A one-quarter-inch plate connects framing using two three-quarter-inch diameter A325 bolts with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld, and a sixteen-gauge closure is provided at the slab edge.
