A hollow structural section is positioned between steel beams and welded with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds spaced at twelve inches on center where it occurs. The structural tube bears directly on the top flange of the supporting wide flange beam. The assembly integrates with a metal deck spanning above the structural section.
