Minor concrete steps and slab steps bear on compacted subgrade. The assembly features a four-inch maximum thickness concrete slab reinforced with number four reinforcing bars spaced at eighteen inches on center. Additional number four reinforcing bars provide necessary tension support at the step transitions over a two-foot transition length. The subgrade is prepared to support the stepped profile while maintaining the specified concrete thickness.
