An open web steel joist bears on the top flange of a supporting steel beam with a specified one-half inch clearance gap at the grid line. A corrugated steel deck spans continuously over the top flange of the beam and the joist top chords, secured with typical one-eighth inch welds as noted on plan. The joist elevation and beam elevation are sized per structural plan. Additional bearing connections and attachment requirements follow the structural plan notes.
