A wide-flange steel beam connects to a concrete wall using a three-eighths-inch by nine-inch plate embedded with three-quarters-inch diameter by five-inch headed studs in two rows spaced at six inches on center horizontally. A three-eighths-inch by four-and-a-quarter-inch shear plate welds to the embedded plate with five-sixteenths-inch welds at top and bottom. The beam web bolts to the shear plate using two erection bolts in horizontal slotted holes as required, with one-quarter-inch typical fillet welds. Two three-quarters-inch diameter by thirty-six-inch deformed bar anchors at similar conditions provide additional anchorage into the concrete wall with vertical spacing at five inches on center.
