A vertical construction joint in a concrete wall is formed between a first pour and a second pour. A keyway featuring a one and one-half inch key is integrated into the joint interface, with twelve-inch long keys spaced at twenty-four inches on center, utilizing two rows of keys where the wall thickness exceeds sixteen inches. Typical horizontal wall reinforcement runs continuously through the wall section. The concrete surface must be cleaned prior to placing concrete for the second pour.
