Hollow structural section glazing girts feature a 3/8-inch cap plate welded with a partial joint penetration weld and typical 1/4-inch fillet welds on three sides. A bent 3/8-inch plate connects to the girt utilizing 7/8-inch diameter A325 through-bolts in 1 1/2-inch vertical slotted holes to allow movement, maintaining a 1-inch minimum gap. The outside faces of the structural tubes are aligned throughout the assembly. All welds are specified as typical 1/4-inch fillets unless otherwise noted.
