A steel beam connects to a supporting beam or column web or flange using five-sixteenth-inch thick double angles secured with three-quarter-inch diameter A325 bolts. The supported beam is coped as required at beam-to-beam connections, with a maximum clearance of one and one-quarter inches for beams up to W30 and one and three-quarter inches for W33 and W36 shapes. Connections are detailed in both bolted-bolted and bolted-welded configurations with designated weld specifications.
