A new concrete slab-on-grade is doweled into the vertical face of an existing cut slab using number four epoxy-grouted reinforcing bars spaced at twelve inches on center with a six-inch minimum embedment. The new slab matches the existing slab thickness with a four-inch minimum and rests on a vapor retarder that terminates against the vertical face of the existing cut slab. Subgrade preparation must follow the referenced drawing.
