This assembly features four-by-six timber blocking installed between truss purlins, supported by one-quarter-inch by four-inch by seven-inch steel plates on each side. The plates are secured to the blocking with two three-quarter-inch diameter through-bolts at a four-inch gauge. The blocking is located two feet from each side of the truss purlins. Nailing requirements for the blocking include two rows at blocking-nailing spacing, with four lines where blocking-nailing is staggered and six lines where three lines of nailing are required. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld with a four-inch length is specified for the connection to the truss girder.
