A galvanized hollow structural section vertical post connects to a wide-flange beam sized per plan with a galvanized base plate and four seven-eighths-inch diameter A325-N bolts at usual gauge. A diagonal bent formed from a galvanized hollow structural section frames into the main post and base connection, with fillet welds specified at three-sixteenths and one-quarter inch alongside a complete joint penetration weld. A galvanized three-eighths-inch thick cap plate seals the top of the post, and a one-inch diameter weep hole is centered near the base of the bent. Intersecting channel girts are omitted for clarity.
