A reinforced concrete sump pit is cast monolithically into a concrete mat footing with a maximum size of twenty-four by twenty-four by twenty-four inches, coordinated in location and depth with mechanical drawings. The pit perimeter is framed with a galvanized L3x3x1/4 angle anchored by two half-inch diameter mechanical anchors per side. A galvanized steel grate with one-inch by three-sixteenth-inch bearing bars at one and three-sixteenths inches on center and cross bars at four inches on center rests within the angle frame. Bent reinforcing bars match the size and spacing of the concrete mat footing reinforcement, maintaining a three-inch minimum cover and three-inch embedment.
