A continuous concrete footing supports an extended concrete curb adjacent to a concrete slab-on-grade. The foundation features transverse and longitudinal reinforcing per the footing schedule, with rammed aggregate piers installed below per the supplier. Two number five longitudinal bars run through the top of the curb, supplemented by number five long bars spaced at twelve inches on center vertically. Number five dowels spaced at twelve inches on center tie the footing into the curb with alternating hook directions. An isolation joint with a rigid joint filler strip separates the curb from the adjacent slab, which bears over rigid insulation per the architectural plans.
