A threaded tie rod with an eight-inch effective embedment anchors into a cast-in-place concrete wall. The tie rod secures a three-times timber sole plate at the top of the wall assembly. Two number five reinforcing bars are placed symmetrically around the tie rod within the wall. A three-inch by three-inch by three-quarter-inch washer plate and heavy hex nuts secure each side of the washer plate typically. Wood framing studs sit above the sole plate, sized per the stud wall schedule.
