A wide flange beam frames into the web of a supporting wide flange beam. The supported beam web is coped to clear the flanges of the supporting member, with a 4 1/2 inch clearance dimension provided between the end of the supported beam and the web of the supporting beam. A 1 1/4 inch cope depth is maintained from the top and bottom flanges of the supported beam. The vertical spacing for the connection fasteners is set at 3 1/2 inches and 3 inches respectively along the web of the supporting beam.
