A four-inch thick concrete housekeeping pad is positioned above a slab on grade, with its location and extents coordinated with mechanical requirements. The housekeeping pad is reinforced with number three reinforcing bars spaced at sixteen inches on center each way. Additional number three reinforcing bars are placed at sixteen inches on center at the perimeter of the pad, turning down into the supporting slab. The underlying slab on grade rests on compacted subgrade, with underslab requirements referenced to drawing two of sheet S501.
