Single-plate shear tabs are configured for skewed steel beam framing. For skews less than or equal to 3-5/8 inches in 12 inches (or up to 17 degrees), a 3/8-inch beveled shear tab is provided at the contractor's option with a 1/4-inch fillet weld. For skews over 3-5/8 inches in 12 inches up to 7 inches in 12 inches (or between 17 and 30 degrees), a 1/2-inch beveled shear tab is used with a 1/4-inch fillet weld. High-strength bolts secure the supported member web to the plate, with standard edge distances of 3/4-inch and 2-1/2 inches indicated.
