A reinforced masonry bond beam connects to an overhead concrete slab or beam using 4x4x1/4-inch by 1-foot 3-inch structural steel angles on each side. Each angle secures to the concrete using two 5/8-inch diameter expansion anchors with a 4-inch embedment spaced at 12 inches on center. A typical top-of-wall gap is maintained between the masonry and the concrete element. A note specifies that this detail is not to be used at post-tensioned slabs.
