A concrete closure strip slab is detailed between adjacent slabs, specified to be cast twenty-eight days minimum after adjacent slab placement. Keyed joints are provided on each side per typical slab construction joint details. Bottom reinforcement is installed per plan, and number four bars at twenty-four inches on center are provided where no top reinforcement exists per plan. Splice lengths are dimensioned as the splice length of the largest top or bottom bar plus three inches on each side, with a two-foot extension.
