Steel beams frame into a vertical steel column using a bolted connection with nine bolts per side. The bottom flange of the steel beam is coped with a three-quarter inch radius to clear the connection plate. Fillet welds sized at five-sixteenths of an inch secure the connection elements. A one-half inch dimension marks the vertical clearance at the column flange.
