Concrete footing with a minimum width of 3 feet 6 inches, reinforced with number 5 bars at 12 inches on center each way, top and bottom, with 3 inches of clear cover. Pony wall atop the footing contains two continuous number 4 bars and an additional number 4 bar with a standard hook. CMU wall above is reinforced with either number 4 bars at 24 inches on center or number 5 bars at 32 inches on center, with all cells grouted solid and 9 gauge bed joint reinforcement at 16 inches vertical spacing. Gate locations include a 4 inch by 6 inch by 1/2 inch galvanized embed plate with two 1/2 inch diameter by 6 inch long studs. General contractor alternate allows for the CMU wall to be constructed continuously from the top of the footing, eliminating the separate pony wall.
