A horizontal construction joint occurs in a concrete masonry unit wall with vertical and horizontal reinforcement. A cleanout is required at every vertical bar but not greater than thirty-two inches on center. The construction joint must be located a minimum of one unit above and below the horizontal reinforcement. The top of grout placement sits one and one-half inches minimum below the construction joint.
