Precast concrete panels meet at a corner joint tied together by embedded steel plates and reinforcing bars. A 1/2-inch by 8-inch by 1-foot 4-inch plate with three number 6 reinforcing bars at 6 inches on center is embedded in the panel. A 3/4-inch by 2 1/2-inch by 1-foot 1-inch plate connects the assembly, with welded connections specified by 3/8-inch and 1/4-inch fillet welds. Welded areas are subsequently grouted after welding is completed, and 4x4-W2.1xW2.1 welded wire fabric reinforces the concrete sections.
