This structural detail shows a wood nailer secured to the top flange of a steel beam using seven-eighths inch diameter welded threaded rods at sixteen inches on center, staggered with a maximum three-quarter-inch countersink. Two rows of fasteners are specified at continuous edge spacing with up to six lines of nailing required depending on spacing. Sub-purlins spaced at twenty-four inches on center support the roof truss purlin assembly, including a three-inch top plate fastened with number fourteen by two-inch wood screws at twelve inches on center staggered at each angle. The underlying steel beam accommodates up to five-inch diameter maximum holes for pipes spaced at ten feet on center minimum as required per approved sprinkler drawings.
