Protected zone restrictions apply to a buckling-restrained brace connection framing into a wide-flange beam. The single-tube buckling-restrained brace features a collar assembly and a designated 4 1/2 inch typical dimension at both ends. Welded, bolted, screwed, or shot-in attachments for non-structural elements are strictly prohibited within the shaded region. Any other connections to the brace require approval from both the engineer and the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer.
