A deep steel girder bearing end connects to the steel column with two three-quarter-inch diameter A325 erection bolts, maintaining a one-inch maximum gap. A stabilizer plate measuring one-half inch by six inches by zero feet six inches is welded with a one-quarter-inch typical fillet weld to the lower assembly. A secondary steel beam frames into the opposite flange of the column using a bolted connection. The metal roof deck bears across the top of the structural framing.
