A structural steel column is welded to a base plate with a 5/16-inch fillet weld around the column to base plate connection. A gusset plate connects to the base plate with welds sized per the brace manufacturer requirements. Anchor bolts are arranged symmetrically around the column flanges with 3-inch, 8-1/2-inch, and 3-1/2-inch spacing dimensions along the plate length and 4-inch and 5-inch dimensions across the width. The base plate assembly incorporates numbered callouts for the column, base plate, gusset plate, and anchor bolts.
