This connection utilizes an ASTM A572 Grade 50 gusset plate to join two buckling restrained braces to a supporting beam. The beam is reinforced with one-half inch stiffener plates on each side, welded with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds on three sides. The gusset plate is also stiffened with one-half inch plates on both sides. The braces are connected to the gusset plate via a strand plate, with weld sizes and lengths designated by variables Wb and Lwb. The assembly requires coordination with the brace manufacturer for erection aids, shims, and final dimensions.
