A skewed steel beam frames into a column using a three-quarter-inch plate matching the height of the deeper wide-flange beam. A one-half-inch clearance is maintained between framing elements. Complete joint penetration welds are applied to both beam flanges at the column connection. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the plate to the stiffener plate. Field connections are detailed with reference bubbles pointing to related sheets.
