A hollow structural section column bears on a three-quarter-inch by seven-inch steel base plate supported by a concrete stem wall. The base plate features one-and-five-sixteenth-inch diameter holes for anchor rods, set with one-and-a-half-inch non-shrink grout. The hollow structural section column size is determined per plan, and the stem wall details are coordinated with sheet S3.03. Edge distances and dimensions are symmetrical across the plate.
