The stair stringer bears onto a continuous thickened slab footing measuring one foot six inches wide and twelve inches deep, reinforced with two continuous number five rebars. A three-inch concrete clearance is maintained from the subgrade. An L 3x3x5/16 by six-inch steel angle clip connects the stair stringer to the slab on grade. A three-quarter-inch diameter expansion bolt secures the angle clip into the thickened concrete footing.
