A square concrete column with vertical reinforcing bars and ties is anchored to a concrete footing and extends up through a concrete slab. The column features number 4 ties at four inches on center typical unless otherwise noted, and number 9 vertical bars. A base plate sits atop the concrete column with anchor bolts connecting to the superstructure column above. The interface between the column top and footing includes a rough and clean surface finish with a quarter-inch amplitude. A concrete slab with a finished floor line rests above the foundation level with specified clearances.
