A five-inch by ten-inch half-inch thick plate connects the tower header beam using two three-quarter-inch diameter through bolts in long slotted holes at one end of the beam. The plate is welded to the supporting hollow structural section member with quarter-inch fillet welds on the top and bottom. This connection accommodates thermal movement or erection tolerances at grids H.4, H.3, 7.9, and 7.5.
