A hollow structural section guide post connects below a wide flange beam supporting a concrete slab on metal deck. An L6x4x3/8 angle bracket is secured to the hollow structural section post using a 5/8-inch diameter bolt. A brace sized per plan frames into the assembly below the beam. A three-sixteenths inch fillet weld secures the connection components with a one-inch clearance maintained to the top of the post.
