An elevator rail connection at a roof structure integrates a wide-flange beam supported by a hollow structural section column. A structural angle L6x3-1/2x3/8x1'-0" with a 13/16" by 1-1/2" slotted hole is placed on each side, fastened with one 3/4" diameter machine bolt left hand tight. A one-inch gap minimum is maintained at the top assembly. Fillet welds of 1/4" size are applied on typical sides as detailed.
