Framing and reinforcing for square and round openings up to two feet maximum width in concrete-filled metal floor decks. Two arrangements are detailed: openings cut after concrete pour with full-span reinforcing bars, and openings cut before concrete pour blocked out with styrofoam. Two number four bars are placed on each side of the opening, with three quarters of an inch clearance. Angle irons measuring 1-1/2 by 1-1/2 by 1/4 inches are welded to two full-height deck flutes on each side typically. Openings less than six inches require no reinforcement per notes on the drawing.
