A hollow structural section member connects to a concrete panel using embedded steel plates welded on three sides with a quarter-inch fillet weld. The upper detail utilizes a half-inch by zero-foot-eight-inch by one-foot-zero-inch plate anchored by two three-quarter-inch diameter by six-inch long stud bolts at eight-inch gauge. The lower detail utilizes a half-inch by one-foot-zero-inch by one-foot-eight-inch plate anchored by six three-quarter-inch diameter by six-inch long stud bolts at eight-inch gauge. Both hollow structural section members are sized per plan or elevation.
