A reinforced concrete grade beam features continuous top and bottom rebar sized per schedule with standard hooks and bend configurations around a pipe sleeve. Two number five by five-foot side bars are placed at each side with hooks at the top of the beam where required, supplemented by additional number four stirrups. Side bars of two number five by six-foot are positioned at each face with specified clearances of three inches and two inches. The detail defines bar diameter as d and depth of grade beam or footing as D, maintaining lap splice lengths proportional to bar diameter.
