An eight-inch open-end concrete masonry unit is configured for placement in masonry bond beams above the bottom course unless noted otherwise. The hollow unit features open ends to allow continuous placement around horizontal reinforcement and grout. This typical block shape facilitates rebar installation in structural masonry walls without threading vertical bars through closed cores.
